New Skulls Sculpture

Dragon Fly High Relief Carving

My Dragon Fly High Relief Carving is finished! Hand carved from a solid piece of Dark Walnut. This piece was hand carved using carving gouges, a dremmel tool was used to get in to the hard to reach places under the wings and the edge of the lilly pad. Finished using hemp oil. From drawing to completed piece in 25 hours.

My Eagle Fiddle is finished. Around 110 hours. It sounds & looks great! Hand carved in Clare, Nova Scotia from Curly Flamed Maple, Spotted Curly Maple, Medium Grain Spruce, Bloodwood & Tagua Nut. Using carving gouges, scrapers & rasps. Fiddle is signed, dated and numbered by the artist Acadian woodcarver Jamie Thibault.

Jamie’s Carvings at 4th Annual ANNAPOLIS-DIGBY TOURISM SHOWCASE

4th Annual ANNAPOLIS-DIGBY TOURISM SHOWCASE

Jamie’s Carvings will be in Cornwallis, at the Annapolis Basin Conference Centre’s Champlain Hall. Saturday, February 14th from 10 am to 4 pm. Jamie will be carving at the show. See high & low relief carvings, portraits, gun stock carvings, fiddles, tagua jewelry & more.

For the first time, Digby Area Tourism Association is partnering with ADEDA, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Regional Tourism Council and Destination Southwest Nova to bring the greatest tourism expo ever to this area. There will be LOCAL food, ENTERTAINMENT, over 120 EXHIBITS, and all kinds of opportunities for you to EXPERIENCE Annapolis-Digby!

This year’s event will be entirely open to the public, and there will no admission fee! Please join in the fun, the celebration and the LOVE OF OUR CULTURES, history, land, sea, food, and people. There will storytelling, music, interactive displays, food demonstrations, a silent auction, and DOOR PRIZES. Come out and meet the TIMELESS FUNDY!

Jamie’s Carvings Exhibit
Feb. 3 to 28 during open hours.
This exhibit of the carvings of artist Jamie Thibault runs throughout February during open hours at the McKay Memorial Library, in Shelburne. The exhibit features carvings of an Acadian fiddle, jewelry pieces from tagua nuts, fantasy, nature sculptures and relief carvings.

Eagle Fiddle

I have started my third fiddle - The Eagle Fiddle
The medium grain spruce belly is almost ready to make the f-holes. The curly maple ribs are cut. The Blood Wood fingerboard is ready. I think I'm hooked on fiddles!
